Eldheimar begins summer opening hours

Eldheimar Volcano Museum has now begun its summer opening schedule and will be open daily from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

At Eldheimar, visitors can explore the unique story of the 1973 volcanic eruption in Vestmannaeyjar through engaging exhibitions, historical artifacts, and interactive displays. The museum offers a fascinating insight into one of Iceland’s most significant natural disasters and the remarkable recovery and rebuilding efforts that followed.
